TThe Titans of Mississauga is a sports club for persons with a disability that was founded in 1994 by Ron Creary, the father of one of the athletes, Michael Rastas. The club began as a powerlifting club that trained in Ron's basement before moving to the University of Toronto at Mississauga (UTM)
When the club moved to UTM a year after its start, it was discovered by the other club co-founder, Pascal Tyrrell, who was training as an olympic weightlifter under two time world champion Bulgarian weightlifter Antonio Krastev. Antonio and Pascal coached the team until a year later when Antonio left to coach in the USA. Pascal assumed the role as head coach in 1996 and has remained so ever since.

Head Coach and Co-Founder
Originally a Mississauga Special Olympics club, the Titans of Mississauga became an independent community club that has flourished with strong membership and donations from the community.
We encourage and support athletes from all walks of life to train with us. Over the years we have been successful in integrating both persons with and without a disability in our club membership.
Erik Singer came by one day at UTM and expressed interest in training and competing Powerlifting with the Titans. He soon became a valued member of our club. After following us to a few different gym locations in the community, he decided to start-up his own gym. We, of course, seized the opportunity to follow Erik to his new location (Be Fit Now Studios) and we have been there ever since. Not only does Erik provide us with the perfect setup for our club but also the feeling of being able to support a local small business.
